The “Point Gawd” Chelsea Gray has added her name into the Unrivaled League and will be participating alongside some of her Las Vegas Aces teammates. Chelsea Gray is known for being an elite floor general that always finds and sets her teammates up to make the easiest play possible. She’s so intelligent when it comes to playmaking and facilitating that people revere her as the perfect model of a true point guard

The Hayward, California native’s basketball journey began at Duke University, where she played from 2010 to 2014. Despite suffering a serious knee injury during her junior year, she remained a highly regarded prospect and was selected 11th overall in the 2014 WNBA Draft by the Connecticut Sun. However, due to her injury, she missed her entire rookie season.

After recovering from injury, she bounced back in 2015, where she made her WNBA debut with the Sun but was traded to the Los Angeles Sparks after just one season. This move proved to be pivotal in her career because during her time with the Sparks, Gray flourished and became an integral part of the team’s success. Her breakout moment came in the 2016 WNBA Finals, where she played a crucial role in helping the Sparks win the championship. Her ability to perform and command an offense under pressure was on full display in the biggest series of her career at the time and she even went on to hit the game-winner in Game 1 of the Finals.

Gray is a decorated point guard when it comes to accolades. She has been named to 6 WNBA All-Star teams and has earned All-WNBA honors, including Second Team selections. Gray is also a 3-time WNBA Champion and a 2-time Olympic Gold Medalist, as she was recently a crucial part of this year’s Olympic Roster that beat France to keep their gold streak alive. Her incredible passing prowess allows her to consistently rank among the league leaders in assists within the WNBA and that will translate to Unrivaled because her court vision and basketball IQ can make her team hard to guard with less defenders since she’s always making the right play on time and on target in a 5v5 setting. She will be exciting to watch as the inaugural tips off in January 2025.
