Amirah “Tootie” Jordan
Each week throughout this season, Rise Up will feature a Player of the Week from each of the 4 main area codes across the state. We just wrapped up the sixth week of the season and the votes are in!! Read below about Amirah Jordan, the 502 Player of the Week for this week.

When it was time to pick a high school, Jordan ultimately picked Sacred Heart Academy. In doing that, she joined a team that has won the last three state championships, and a team that graduated only one player from last year’s team. Despite joining such a loaded team, Jordan immediately got thrown into the lineup, playing a critical role for them: the starting point guard. SHA has not remained the best team in the state by playing an easy schedule either; rather, they play an extremely challenging schedule, facing many top teams both in and out of the state. Jordan has always been talented, but she has gotten better and better as the season goes on, further proving that she is one of the top 2027’s around. She is a true playmaker who is always looking to create for her teammates. She also can score herself and forces the defense to make decisions on how to guard her. Not many players can join a powerhouse team and immediately make a big impact, but that is what Tootie has done this season!
