Each week throughout this season, Rise Up will feature a Player of the Week from each of the 4 main area codes across the state. We just wrapped up the fourth week of the season and the votes are in!! Read below about Anna Kelch, the 859 Player of the Week for this week.

Kelch has come up big for Simon Kenton in the start of her sophomore season. Her team currently holds a 9-3 record while playing a very tough schedule. Last week, the Lady Pioneers competed in the Queen of the Commonwealth, a tournament that boasted multiple top teams around the state. They had to play four games in four days and Kelch constantly made winning plays for her team in all four of those games. Her strong drives to the basket were proven tough to stop as she consistently made great moves to get to the basket. She averaged 12.5 PPG, 6.8 RPG, & 2.5 SPG and earned a spot on the All-Tournament team. Through 12 games, Kelch is averaging 8.5 PPG and 6.8 RPG. The versatile guard is just getting started and will open a lot of eyes as the season goes on and for the next 2.5 years!
