Rise Up Player of the Week: Elin Logue

Logue is currently an 8th grader who is playing up at the Varsity level at Walton-Verona High School in Kentucky. While she got some Varsity experience last season as a 7th grader, she has stepped into a much larger role this season. She’s not only in the regular rotation, but she’s even started at points throughout the season. Walton-Verona’s played a very tough schedule and Logue continues to show off her talent on big stages.
On a team with a lot of youth, Logue is the Bearcats 2nd leading scorer behind senior wing, Grace Brewer. She’s averaging 9.7 PPG and has had some really big shooting performances lately. In fact, she hit 12 3-pointers across Walton-Verona’s 3 game stretch last week. She even set some personal career highs last week.
Logue shot 5/7 from 3 in one of the Bearcats games last week and 6/9 in another victory. She shot over 68% last week and is shooting an impressive 45.9% from deep on the season. Her 2.5 made 3’s per game ranks in the top 30 in Kentucky, and her 3-point percentage has also been up there all season long. Logue is also shooting 83.3% from the charity stripe. She continues to show an elite shooting ability while also contributing in many other areas of the game. Logue may be an 8th grader, but she’s already showing the high-level talent she can bring to the court.
Congratulations to Rise Up Sports Blog Player of the Week for Week 10, Elin Logue!!
