As October approaches, we know that means in Louisville the beginning for the Middle School Girls Basketball Season in the Jefferson County Public School League.
Lets take early look at some important dates to mark on your calendars:
Pre-Season Jamborees:
- J-town HS – Oct 18th
- Central HS – Oct 25th
- Ballard HS – Nov 1st
- Male HS – Nov 8th
Regular Season:
- Begins with games on Thursday, Nov 6th
Queen of Bluegrass Tourney at Fairdale HS:
- December 5th – 7th
Moore Middle Holiday Tournament
- Saturday, Dec 13th
JR L.I.T. City Tournament
- Location is TBA
- February 2026
SOMETHING NEW THIS YEAR:
- 1st Annual JCPS Varsity Basketball Media Day on Sunday, Oct 26th at J-town HS at 2pm
- Each team will have their Head Coach and 1-2 players in attendance to represent their program in a Pre-Season Tip-Off Press Conference styled event to speak about their team. Also give their thoughts and expectations on the upcoming season !
- Great opportunity to meet the top players from different programs and hear what players/coaches have to say about their teams

Teams this year will compete all season long to see who finishes on top as the last team standing in February. Everyone is hoping to bring a Championship Title back to their school for their Girls Basketball Program…..Who will raise the 2026 Championship Trophy this year????
