GRC hosted the KABC Bluegrass Cardinal Classic on June 12-14, 2025. This is a scholastic live period event that gives high school teams the chance to play in front of college coaches in June. I got the chance to watch over 30 different teams compete across the 3 day event. To catch as many teams and players as possible, I was typically only able to see either half of a game or one full game for each team. However, I made note of the players that grabbed my attention in those games. Below you can see the 2030 players that caught my eye. These are listed in alphabetical order by last name.
Elite skillset for a 2030. Great size and length. Can score at all 3 levels with consistency. Good ball handling skills and can be really effective playing on or off the ball. So poised and no moment seemed too big.
It was my first time catching Kollyn and I was instantly impressed by what she brought to the court. Definitely a 2030 to watch for. Great shooter and had great moves on drives. Handled contact and was able to finish through it or get to the FT line. Also had good handles.
Knocked down multiple shots with a quick release and great floor spacing. Even knocked down a 3 while getting fouled. Moved without the ball/ran the floor consistently. Strong ball handling and solid passes. A ton of upside as a 2030.
Heard so many people talking about how impressed they were by this talented 2030. Strode has excellent athleticism and uses that along with her length to elevate and knock down shots over defenders. Rebounded well and was making things hard on whoever she was guarding.
Played like a vet despite being an 8th grader. 3 level scoring threat who was knocking down shots and finishing in the lane/at the rim. Good recognition of when to kick and knew where the open player was when she drew help defense.
