GRC hosted the KABC Bluegrass Cardinal Classic on June 12-14, 2025. This is a scholastic live period event that gives high school teams the chance to play in front of college coaches in June. I got the chance to watch over 30 different teams compete across the 3 day event. To catch as many teams and players as possible, I was typically only able to see either half of a game or one full game for each team. However, I made note of the players that grabbed my attention in those games. Below you can see the 2029 players that caught my eye. These are listed in alphabetical order by last name.
Lily provided an excellent spark off the bench. Really solid PG skills and very poised despite being the youngest player on the roster. Made good drives and had excellent reads when she got into the paint. Multiple assists but also showed ability to score herself from 3 or at the rim.

Such a crafty guard who showed a really high basketball IQ. Good fakes/moves to get around defenders. 3-level scoring threat. Couldn’t believe she was only a rising freshman because she plays with the poise of a veteran.
Played with the poise of a veteran. Emerson was impacting the game in so many different ways. Excellent shooter with good form. Threat on drives. Made great plays defensively. Has good size/length. Definitely an intriguing prospect.
Was dominating on the boards – felt like she was grabbing every single one whenever she was on the court. Good strength and a lot of toughness. Could handle a lot of contact. Showcased multiple strong moves down low.
Long and active. Was a really steady and reliable player for the Cardinals, making an impact on both ends of the court. Showed the ability to score both inside and out.
Did a great job showcasing versatility at the guard positions. Caught fire from 3 and knocked down multiple outside shots throughout the game. Saw the floor and delivered some nice passes.
One of the top 2028 players in Kentucky without a doubt. Strong guard skillset and ran the PG well but can also be really effective playing off of the ball. Plays with so much poise despite being so young. Can shoot the 3 or get to the rim. Finished a lot of tough baskets. Made good passes.
Lily proved to be a really strong addition to North Hardin’s solid returning core and seemed to fit in really well. White is going to be a special player because she already shows strong floor general skills, but is also a scoring threat and can create for teammates. Did a great job handling the ball and mixing up moves.
