Bethlehem competed in the Queen of the Commonwealth last week, a tournament that featured a lot of the teams you’ll find in most media outlets top 25 team rankings in the state. In 4 games, Miles put up some incredible numbers, including 3 double-doubles. In their tournament opener, Miles scored a team-high 18 points and grabbed a team-high 8 rebounds versus Holy Cross Covington. She shot 54.5% from the field and was a perfect 6-for-6 from the free throw line. The Banshees played DuPont Manual in the next game and Miles finished with 13 points and 12 rebounds while shooting 57.1% from the field. She followed that game up with 18 points and 11 rebounds versus Barren County. She once again had an impressive field goal percentage in that game, finishing at 53.8% from the field and 4-for-4 from the free throw line. In Bethlehem’s final game of the tournament, their 4th game in 4 days, Miles led her team to a win with a huge double-double: 31 points and 17 rebounds. She nearly had a triple-double as she also had 8 steals in the victory. She went 12-for-17 (70.6%) from the field and also hit her lone 3-point attempt of the game. Ashlyn Miles has been a critical part of Bethlehem’s team for a while now, but she’s stepping up big time right now in the absence of Macy and don’t expect her to slow down when she returns!
Miles received 99 votes to win the 502 poll.
