Below you will find some of the players that caught my eye at the Kentucky Expo Center during The Classic on May 16-18. Please keep in mind that these are just the players I was able to catch at the event and in no means is this an exhaustive list of players who had standout performances throughout the tournament. In most cases, I also only got to see each team play in a single game setting.
Maddi Frohnapfel
2028 ETA E40 Campos
Really tough player. Basketball IQ is so high. Recognizes angles on drives and does a great job squaring up and knocking down shots even on the move. Moves well without the ball and catches ready to fire.
Chloe Hurst
Kentuckiana Hoops 15U E40
Great vision and crisp passes. Handled the ball well and was patient, waiting for teammates to get open & not forcing when it wasn’t there. Can attack & knock down shots as well.
Takenzie Young
2028 D.E. Elite
Impact is always felt on the court. Facilitates well and can definitely score at all 3 levels, but impacts the game without scoring too. Disruptive defender.
Avery Green
Legends Hoskins 2028 Black
Difference maker defensively. Really made things tough both as a rim protector and creating deflections/steals. Showed some crafty moves around the basket and stayed active on both ends. Potential is through the roof.
Rhys Everett
Next Level 15U S40
Reads the passing lanes well and uses length to apply pressure/get deflections & steals. Aggressive takes. Had some crafty moves to get around defense on drives.
Courtney Simmon
2028 Lady Aces 15U NE2K
Love the fight Simmon had throughout the weekend. Not afraid to be aggressive on drives and when going after the ball for rebounds, steals, and loose balls. Lefty can shoot the ball well from deep as well.
Janna Cary
Legends Hoskins 2028 Black
Moves feet well and uses length to make things tough defensively. Great decision making offensively, whether it was recognizing where to kick it, where to push it in transition, or seeing when there was an angle to attack the basket. Spread the floor and moved really well without the ball.
Jordyn Hodge
Kentucky Premier 15U NE2K
True 3-level scoring threat who can create even when facing pressure. Strong outside shooter with deep range. Can also create for teammates and facilitates the offense well.
Lily White
Next Level 15U S40
Strong handles with a variety of moves. Consistently got around and through defense & to the rim on drives. Very quick with and without the ball.
Jayden Bauer
2028 Lady Aces 15U NE2K
Did a good job handling the ball even when facing pressure. Contributed in a lot of ways offensively – making plays, scoring inside and out, delivering passes. Truly doing a little bit of everything in every game I caught.
Greyson Luehrs

Was doing all of the little things – locating opponents and boxing out strong, running the floor, making things tough defensively including stepping over well in help defense. Really good outside shooter – form is textbook. Showed ability to play all guard positions effectively.
Leah Wilhite

Attacks gaps really well to create for teammates. Excellent court vision and a true facilitator. Recognized where the open teammate was and made great passes but also stayed a scoring threat herself. Handled pressure well.
Ava Crace

Such a disruptive defender – uses length to come up with steals, blocks, and deflections. Had multiple blocks on 3-point shooters just timing the close out perfectly. Scored on both sides around the basket.
Victoria Spiegl

Had some really nice finishes around the basket and some strong moves to create separation from defense. Attacked gaps well. Made smart plays overall.
Molly Johnson

Great outside shot and spaced out well on the perimeter. Stayed poised when the ball was in her hands.

Did a great job running the point. Had some nice passes including some no looks. Forced defense to defend her early with her ability to knock down outside shots & also got to the rim.
