It’s that time again!! It’s time for another exciting year in the city of Louisville for Middle School girls’ basketball in the Jefferson County Public School league.
First, let’s take a look at some of the important dates to mark calendars for through the upcoming season:
Jamborees
Saturday, Oct 26th at Western HS
Saturday, Nov 2nd at Ballard HS

Begins the week of October 28th
Queen of Bluegrass Tourney

* Teams this year will compete all season long to finish on top as the last team standing as things come to an end in February at Valley HS. Everyone is hoping to add the 2025 City Championship Title to their program!

*Listed below is a spotlight on some of the top players in JCPS on the many different teams that you will see this season:
JCTMS
8th grader Maya Green
A lefty guard/wing with good length and knows how to use her athletic ability to be productive and impact game.
7th grader Jordynn Smith
A quick PG who can score and lead a team as a floor general and plays with great pace.
Grace James
7th grader Charleigh Carter
One of the top 7th graders in JCPS. Strong-framed scoring guard that can impact the game in multiple ways.
6th grader Reece Rankin
One of the top 6th graders in JCPS. A lefty scoring combo guard who plays hard on both ends of floor with a great intensity and is a vocal leader.
Noe
8th grader Lainey Hall
Good sized guard who plays with a hard-nosed mentality in attacking rim or with her jumper and can give opponents guards matchup problems.
7th grader Kelis Ezell
Strong-framed scoring guard.
Knows how to play physical and plays with 100% effort and hustle on both ends.
Westport
8th grader Michaela Williams
Tall guard/wing with a nice jumper off the catch as well as a good into lane pull-up game.
7th grader Nacara Lewis
Athletic wing who is very active and really thrives around the rim, incredible speed and hops as well for her size.
Moore
8th graders Saryah Todd & Kynadee Walls
Both are good-sized forwards that can impact games in major way in and around the paint with strong rebounding and scoring at the rim.
Meyzeek
8th graders Conniyah Hamlet & Lauren Tran
Both guards are skilled scorers with good handles to get into the lane, good jump shooter, especially off the catch-and-shoot.
Barret
8th grader Kendall Posey
Scoring combo guard who is a threat at all 3 levels and strong on ball defender.
8th grader Ja’Myiah Smith
Long and athletic forward that can dominate a game in the paint and on defense can have a block party if opponents attack the rim.
Thomas Jefferson
8th grader Lanayjah O’Bannon
One of the top 8th graders in JCPS. Tall and athletic guard with an all around game that showcases her ability on offense, rebounding and defense.
Johnson
8th grader Cydni Kast
An impressive jump shooter with range and really can lock down on the defensive end.
Crosby
8th grader Kenndel Lanier
Speed guard who attacks the rim strong, nobody is faster end-to-end in JCPS. Aggressive on-ball defender.
Stuart
8th grader Destiny Davis
Physical forward who rebounds strong and scores well by the rim, defends well and plays with incredible hustle.
Kammerer
8th grader Tonie Woods
Strong forward who plays inside and outside the paint well, capable double-double each time she takes the floor.
Lassister
8th grader Blina Kameri
One of the top pure jump shooters in JCPS, especially off the catch-and-shoot.
Western
8th grader Journey Gazaway
An athletic & versatile guard that can get to the rim aggressively and defends on the ball well.
TT Knight
8th grader Tariah Kizer
An all-around player who can impact the game on the offensive and defensive end each time on the floor.
Ramsey
7th grader Nyla Gordon
Skilled combo guard scorer and has a bag of 1×1 moves that are very impressive.
Brown
7th grader Lyric Brown
A lefty PG who can flat out score with good handles and great passer.
Farnsley
7th grader Cyonna Deal
A PG who can is a floor general and vocal leader and plays with intensity and a high motor.
