Unrivaled delivered a monumental surprise to basketball fans with the announcement of their 34th participant. Cameron Brink is another promising young star who will be joining the Unrivaled League this January. The Princeton, New Jersey native is one of the more recognizable faces in women’s basketball thanks to her amazing college career, stature, skill, and overall unique upside. Brink was actually raised in Beaverton, Oregon, where she attended Southridge High School before transferring to Mountainside High School. There was no other comparison to how easy she made the game look with her low post moves and elite rim protection, especially at the high school level. This is what caught the eye of Stanford University, which is the school she would commit to playing college basketball.

At Stanford, Brink put the whole basketball world on notice with her immediate impact as a forward. Standing at 6 feet 4 inches and weighing 170 pounds, she was instrumental in leading the Cardinals to an NCAA Championship in 2021. Throughout her illustrious collegiate career, she garnered numerous accolades, including being a three-time Associated Press All-American and receiving the Pac-12 Player of the Year award in the 2023-2024 season. Brink was also a three-time Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Year, showcasing her dominance on both ends of the court against tough collegiate competition. Statistically, Brink’s junior year was particularly impressive. She averaged 15.1 points, 9.6 rebounds, 1.8 assists, and 3.5 blocks per game, leading the team in scoring, rebounding, and blocks. Notably, she reset Stanford’s program record for single-season blocks with 118 and ended the season with 48 consecutive free throws made, a program record. In the 2024 WNBA Draft, Brink was selected second overall by the Los Angeles Sparks.

In her rookie season, she played 15 games, averaging 7.5 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 1.7 assists per game. Her defensive prowess that was evident in college, continued to shine as she led the league in blocks per 36 minutes and ranked third in blocks per game. Unfortunately, Brink’s promising rookie season was cut short due to a torn ACL sustained in June 2024 during a game against the Connecticut Sun. This injury also prevented her from participating in the 2024 Paris Olympics, where she was set to compete in the three-on-three event for Team USA.

She will be one of the key difference-makers in this new league because she’s a game-changer on the defensive end with her length, awareness, and athleticism. Brink also possesses a reliable mid-range jumper and has demonstrated the ability to stretch the floor with her three-point shooting. Her impact on both ends will give her team a chance against anyone in the Unrivaled.
